Brookside Launches Sunday Morning Vodcast

Brookside RSS Feeds: (instructions)

August 14, 2005

Today, Brookside Baptist Church began vodcasting its Sunday Morning sermons online. The vodcast currently features this morning's message by Dr. Sam Horn, "Passing Down Your Faith," last Sunday's message by Dr. Matt Olson, president of Northland Baptist Bible College, and a week-in-review of our 2005 Neighborhood Bible Time. Each week subscribers will recieve the latest Sunday morning message from Brookside's pulpit.

What is vodcasting?

Vodcasting (also known as vidcasting or vlogging) is a way to send video programs to computer users. Similar to podcasting, once a user subscribes to a vodcast, the latest message is automatically downloaded to the user's computer.

How can I watch a vodcast?

Anyone with a high-speed (DSL/Cable) internet connection can easily watch to a vodcast. Several programs are available for Windows and Macintosh to subscribe to vodcasts, including FireANT and iTunes (version 4.9 or higher). FireAnt, in particular, allows the user to download video in any format, and can download the video programs to a Play Station Portable. In addition, MeFeedia's website  allows people to view vodcasts online without any extra software.

How do I subscribe using iTunes?

In iTunes, go to Advanced -> Subscribe to Podcast, and copy the url of the podcast/vodcast into the box. You can also search the iPod Podcast Directory for "Brookside Baptist Church." Check out our Podcast Instructions page for more information.

Why did Brookside begin a vodcast?

Brookside Baptist Church wants to build up its members as well as share its resources with other Christians. We currently broadcast over radio, cell phones, and iPods. This new technology will eventually allow millions of people to see and hear solid, Biblical preaching. We pray this will be a blessing to many.
